Getting Started with Open Source

GitHub is a development platform that enables developers to host and review code, manage projects, and build software alongside 50 million developers. This session is an introduction to understanding more about what Git and GitHub. Participants will take their first step into the Open-Source world. Through the session, we will be going over the basics of Git and learn how to start contributing to Open-Source projects, through GitHub. We will also be discussing the best practices while contributing to Open-Source Projects.

Abshar Mohammed Aslam - Abshar is a GitHub Campus Expert, Microsoft Student Learn Ambassador, and Third-Year Computer Science Engineering Student at BITS Pilani Dubai Campus. He is part of the team that handles the amazing community of ACM BPDC, where he takes multiple sessions to teach students about various topics in Computer Science.
